CLOSINGS DUE TO SNOW

The Basement will be closed whenever school is closed due to SNOW.

For emergency school closings, families can find information on the District website - www.rdale.org,  WCCO 830 AM radio, and metro television channels.

CLOSINGS DUE TO COLD

Whenever school closes BEFORE 6:30 AM due to COLD,  The Basement at 1 location will be open: Plymouth Middle School will host: SMS, PMS & FAIR students currently registered for The Basement.

• The Basement does not provide any e-learning instruction; students will not be able to take part in teachers' meetings.

• The Basement provides space and times in the schedule for kids to do their asynchronous work as a choice. 

• Currently-registered Basement families are eligible.

• There is no additional registration for care on cold days.

• The cost will be $44/child.  Fees paid for The Basement care will be deducted from $44.

• There are no refunds for emergency closings.

• Hours will be 8am until 5:30pm.

• No breakfast will be provided, and students will need to bring a lunch from home.

• Afternoon snack will be provided

• Children may bring their school issued devices to work on E-Learning if given any work.

The Basement is open many days that school is closed. Registration for these days is separate from your regular schedule, so that families may select Non-School Days (NSDs) based on their individual needs. If you need only Non-School Days, you have to submit a Drop-In contract to add NSDs. NSD locations may vary.

Payments are due bi-weekly on Mondays.  Invoices are emailed on Monday one week prior to the due date.  Payments not received within 3 days of the due date will incur a $5 Late Payment Fee.  Parents/Guardians are responsible for all days contracted regardless of attendance.  The Basement reserves the right to terminate accounts that fall behind on payments.

2025-2026 School year rates and fee schedule

Consistent Schedule

• Requires a consistent weekly schedule all school year (e.g., every Monday after school or every Tues, Wed, Thurs before school).

• Permanent schedule changes (representing a new consistent pattern of attendance) are possible and requested online.  Please allow one week for notification of acceptance/denial. All changes will incur a $20 per child Schedule Change Fee.

• If space is available, additional days may be added at the Drop-In rate. 

Drop-In Schedule

• Parents/Guardians must request online at least 2 days prior to the needed date. For emergency drop-in (within 24 hours), contact the site directly.  Drop-Ins are accepted on a space-available basis.

• No refunds will be given for canceling an approved Drop-In date.

Pick Your Days – Varied monthly schedule

• Submit the monthly schedule that fits your family's needs by NOON on the due dates (which are approximately ten calendar days before the first of the month).  See Pick Your Day Schedule Due Dates.

• Schedules submitted after the due date will be billed at the Drop-In rate. 

• A minimum of 8 days per month is required to qualify for Pick Your Days scheduling.

• Schedule changes aren't permitted and credit won't be given once the submitted schedule is approved.

• If space is available, Drop-In days may be added at the Drop-In rate.

• Schedule changes will incur a $20 Schedule Change Fee.  All schedule changes require a 10-day notice AND supervisor approval.  
• A $20 per child Schedule Change Fee will be billed to your childcare account for any modifications to your current contract (except "Pick Your Days" contract).
• Days for Pick Your Day contracts must be chosen by monthly deadlines (Pick Your Day Schedule Due Dates) or will default to Drop-In rates. Drop-Ins are subject to space availability.

• If you require a permanent change to your contract option, ie. Full Schedule to Drop-in or Drop-in to Full Schedule, you will need to "register a new contract." Registering a new contract will incur the $20 per child Schedule Change Fee.

• Schedule changes made on/before August 21, 2024 will not be charged a Schedule Change Fee.
