Dear Robbinsdale Area Schools Families,

It’s our hope that everyone had a relaxing Spring Break. If you traveled outside of  Minnesota last week, health officials strongly recommend students and families get a COVID-19 test three-to-five days after returning home, even if you’re fully vaccinated. This recommendation is based on guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the CDC. You can find free COVID-19 saliva testing sites at the MDH website.

In addition, state and federal health officials also recommend unvaccinated individuals who traveled out of the state quarantine for 14 days after returning to Minnesota. For those who traveled, please consider the community spread in the area visited, your ability to socially distance while traveling, and whether your close contacts have had the opportunity to get vaccinated. Please note, quarantining is not recommended for those who received their second vaccination more than two weeks before travel.

We encourage you to continue following the CDC guidelines such as frequent handwashing, social distancing and wearing a face covering.  If anyone in your household displays any symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please keep them at home and alert your building COVID coordinator. Your efforts help lessen the possibility of community spread of the coronavirus, which allows us to continue in-person learning in our schools.

Sincerely,

Marti Voight
Interim Assistant Superintendent and District COVID-19 Coordinator
