AVID Applications Open mid-February for rising 9th Graders

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college and career readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. 

8th grade students who wish to apply for the AVID Elective in high school will complete the application online this month. The application link will be shared in a weekly update mid-February.  Any interested student  must complete the online application that will soon be posted on the district webpage; this includes students who are already enrolled in AVID. 6th & 7th grade students who are not already in AVID and have a quarter 2 & 3 GPA of 2.0 or higher are encouraged to apply during quarter 4 for the 2026-2027 school year. The timeline has shifted to later in the year due to school consolidation plans. RMS students will learn more about AVID during in-class presentations during quarter 4.
